Bay Area Emergency Security: The 2025–26 Checklist

If you’re responsible for people, property, or operations, you don’t need theory—you need a plan that works when things break.

This is the checklist our clients use across the Bay. It maps to California requirements where it matters and keeps operations quiet, compliant, and moving. ¹²³⁴

  1. High-risk termination / workplace concern
    • Time early (or late) when the floor is quiet; pre-stage the exit route.
    • Bring a licensed guard team for discreet on-site presence and escort. ⁴
    • Kill access in layers (badges, keys, Wi-Fi creds, SaaS) at the door.
    • Separate personal effects; deliver later with a neutral witness.
    • Log who/what/when/why for counsel per CA workplace-violence program duties. ¹

  2. Fire alarm or system impairment (sprinklers, panel, monitoring)
    • Call your alarm vendor and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (Fire Marshal).
    • If required, stand up a Fire Watch with trained personnel; document patrols and times until systems are restored. ²
    • Verify exits are clear; post temporary egress notices if needed.
    • Capture a short debrief for facilities/insurance.

  3. After-hours trespass / damage / break-in
    • Call PD if active; then secure perimeters and doors.
    • Deploy a roving guard until repairs or re-key are complete. ⁴
    • Check lighting and cameras; fix obvious “return-risk” points.
    • File an incident report properly so claims don’t stall.

  4. Event coverage (weddings, corporate, premieres, VIP)
    • One command thread: venue lead + security lead + vendor lead.
    • Fixed posts on doors/back-of-house; rovers on 20–30 minute loops.
    • Clear bag policy and guest-list protocol—friendly and consistent.
    • Quiet escalation path (guest services → security → 911 only as needed). ³

  5. Executive visit / site walk / media sensitivity
    • Advance the route, parking, elevators, and a private hold.
    • Split coverage: one with principal, one on perimeter.
    • Keep cameras off your people; manage angles, not attention.
    • Wrap with a 10-line debrief and next-time fixes.

What you get

• Licensed coverage (PPO-compliant) for fixed posts, rovers, escorts, and fire watch. ⁴
• Rapid response (same-day, after-hours, weekends).
• Quiet ops: plain-clothes or low-visibility uniforms; low-friction check-in/out.
• Paper you can use: incident logs, fire-watch sheets, post orders, debriefs.
• One number to add posts, extend shifts, or flip to overnights.
